Project Location
Description of Work: The project includes the removal of the existing corrugated pipe and cast-in-place concrete culvert. The proposed replacement will be a precast concrete box culvert on approximately the same alignment. The new structure will have a clear span of 9 ft., a rise of 8 ft., and a length of 100ft. The new structure will accommodate the expected flow of the Tributary to Mohawk River. The proposed work will also include pavement reconstruction and replacing the existing railing.
Anticipated Project Schedule: Construction Start: Spring 2027 Construction Complete: Fall 2027
Right-of-Way: To facilitate construction of the new culvert and allow for future maintenance access, a property acquisition and easement will be required on the south side of the roadway, along with easements on the north side.
Utilities: Overhead electric and telecommunications lines are present within the project limits. In addition, an underground water line is located on the north side of the roadway and an underground gas line on the south side. Relocation of utility poles and adjustments to underground utilities within the excavation limits will be required to accommodate construction of the proposed structure.
Work Zone Traffic Control: The culvert will be closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic during construction, with an off-site detour implemented for the duration of the work. The closure is anticipated to last approximately five (5) months. The proposed detour route will utilize Ferguson Road (CR 50), Welsh Bush Road (CR 13) and Industrial Park Drive, resulting in an additional travel distance of approximately 2.4 miles and an estimated increase of about 4 minutes in travel time.
Anticipated Construction Cost: $1.8 Million
