Project Location: Bleecker Street (CR 241) over Tributary to Mohawk River in the Town of Frankfort, Herkimer County

Project Location
Description of Work: The project includes the replacement of the existing corrugated pipe culvert. The proposed replacement will include replacing the existing structure with a precast concrete box culvert on approximately the same alignment and skew. The new structure will be a precast concrete box structure with a clear span of 9 ft, rise of 8 ft and a structure length of 100 ft to accommodate the expected flows of the Tributary to Mohawk River. The proposed replacement also includes pavement reconstruction and replacing the existing railing.
Project Schedule: Construction Start: Spring 2027 Construction Start: Fall 2027
Right-of-Way: A fee and temporary easement will be required on the south side of the road for construction of the proposed culvert and future maintenance. Permanent and temporary easements will be required on the north side of the road for construction of the proposed culvert and future maintenance. Herkimer County is responsible for right-of-way acquisitions for this project.
Utilities: There are overhead electric lines, telephone lines and power lines are located within the project limits. There is also an underground water line on the north side of the road and an underground gas line on the south side of the road. There will need to be relocation of utility poles and underground utilities within the excavation limits for construction of the proposed structure.
Work Zone Traffic Control: The culvert will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic and an offsite detour will be utilized during construction. The duration of this closure is expected to be approximately five (5) months. The offsite detour route would utilize Ferguson Road (CR 50), Welsh Bush Road (CR 13) and Industrial Park Drive. The detour length is approximately 2.4 miles and approximately 4 minutes of additional travel time.
Anticipated Construction Cost: $1,832,000
